Located on Main Street in Bastrop Texas, this historic two story building has a colorful past and a bright future utilizing the seasonal harvest from our urban farm, Eden East, located a mile down Main Street.
As the oldest building on Main Street built in 1836, we take pride in the history of the walls that surround us while we gather to feast together. We take the past and bring it to the present to acknowledge the city’s growth and history.
Chef Sonya and Farmer David start exploring menu ideas the season and year before they are presented. Those ideas translate into what will grow on the farm. Much of the produce comes directly from the Eden East Farm, traveling down Main Street to the restaurant on a daily basis.
At Store House we are passionate about creating delicious dishes that showcase the flavors of the region and the season. From sustainably caught seafood to organic, grass-fed meats we care what goes on your plate. Our chefs work with local farmers and producers to source the freshest ingredients and create unique dishes unlike any other.
***Vegetarian and gluten free options always available.
Sonya is a proponent of supporting local purveyors and recognizes the importance of using locally-grown ingredients for both nutritional and environmental purposes. She is a pioneer of the east Austin food scene, opening Eastside Showroom, Hillside Farmacy, and Eden East. She and her husband own a 5 acre farm one mile north of Store House Market & Eatery, which supplies the restaurant with its seasonal harvest.
After an almost two decade career in filmmaking, David is now creating stories through hyper-seasonal growing, and supporting a healthy ecosystem on Eden East Farm. The farm was created out of an empty lot with the goal of saving green space, and supporting a healthy ecosystem.
David believes in being a good steward of the land, providing nutritious food to the restaurant and the public, educating the public about how to grow food, and working towards building community in Bastrop and beyond.
At the start of her career, Kate worked as a fishmonger at Whole Foods, learning about seafood and getting great exposure to sustainable practices and a world of fresh ingredients. Soon after, she transitioned into becoming a line cook at Hillside Farmacy, one of Sonya Cote's East Austin projects.
After working her way up to Sous Chef at Hillside, she began helping out at Eden East. In 2021, she was thrilled to join yet another one of Sonya Cote's projects as Chef de Cuisine at Store House Market & Eatery.
Amy has been in the food and beverage industry for over a decade now. After managing a few different restaurants, assisting chefs, managing freelance events, and bartending, she found her spot at the Eden East Farm in East Austin as Event Coordinator. Loving what Chef Sonya brings to the table, Amy has rejoined her in Bastrop to help her with her continued growth and progression.
